ADAO Press Release: EXPERTS UNITE TO DISCUSS ASBESTOS SCIENCE, PREVENTION & JUSTICE AS THEY REMEMBER 9/11 HEROES

On the eve of September 11, 2025, the Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization (ADAO), the United States’ largest nonprofit organization working tirelessly to prevent asbestos exposure, announced its plans to host the 20th Anniversary Asbestos Awareness and Prevention Conference (AAPC). This important event is set to take place in the heart of New York City on September 12-13, 2025.

This year, the conference bears the theme, “Building on Dr. Selikoff’s Legacy”. The ADAO is dedicated to the education, advocacy, and initiation of community measures to prevent asbestos exposure – a major cause of mesothelioma, a severe type of cancer.

The ADAO uses events like the AAPC to bring together experts who can discuss critical advances in asbestos science, prevention strategies, and justice for victims. This year’s conference is hinging on the legacy of the late Dr. Irving Selikoff, a leading figure in the fight against asbestos-related diseases.

For those interested in mesothelioma legal news, the conference will offer an opportunity to hear from experts in the field, network with others with similar interests, and remember the heroes of 9/11, many of whom suffered from asbestos-related diseases due to exposure during their rescue efforts.
